Tim's new truck!

We have been saving up for a while, and dreaming, about buying a new (to us) truck.  It finally happened last weekend!  Tim had looked at several trucks and we had our other car for sale for a week or so...I think it got a little hard to wait because he ended up trading in the car when he saw this truck and took it for a test drive.  The boys love it too  :)  It was fun to get actual cash out of the bank and Tim took that and the car and went and offered it at the dealership where this truck was for sale.  We knew we were making a low offer, but after taking Dave Ramsey's class we felt like the cash would help us negociate.  It was also a good lesson for the boys to see us paying for the truck without taking out a loan and a good chance to talk to them about how important that is.  It took several trips for the salesman going back to the office to talk to the manager and them continuing to ask Tim to come up on the price a bit, but they finally gave us the price we asked for.  Its been fun to ride in it this week!

We had a few days of nice weather...

The weather this time of year is usually rainy.  More than usual, it feels like.  Our next hope of a sunny day according to the weather website is in a week  :(       We did however have a spectacular Easter weekend.  It was warm and sunny and we got out and enjoyed it.  We recently discovered a biking/hiking trail near our house that in sunny weather has lots of snakes next to the trail.  We have been there several times and have never come away with less than 3 snakes.  Which of course we have to return to the trail the next day (one of the conditions I put on them if they want to bring snakes home) which means they want to catch more...

The boys even got out the sprinkler and set it going under the trampoline.  Quite fun.  They also got hot water out of the sink and brought it to this bucket in the backyard with smaller buckets and created their own backyard hot tub.

Easter egg coloring

We had fun writing secret messages in white crayon before dyeing them.  It was sweet to see the boys write things like "Christ died for me" and "Jesus loves me".

Field Trip to Boeing Flight Museum

I was able to go with Austin on his field trip recently.  Of course I had a group of boys.  They were fun, but it certainly was not a boring day!

They learned about the 4 forces that affect an airplane as it tries to take off and fly.  They also were able to build their own plane and in the second picture below this, they flew them.

Crazy Hair Day at school

I did my best this year.  We even bought some hair "glue" that was supposed to make great mohawks.  I thought they turned out ok but still were not the quality I was hoping for.  Not sure why we didn't get a picture of Ezra.  He had a great colorful mohawk too.

The 2013 musical

We had a great time with the musical our church does each year.  This year it was based on the Cinderella story and was called "Daughter of the King".  Austin was a knight and Christian was a "castle kid".  They both learned a lot and worked hard.  I was able to work on my sewing skills a little as I was asked to sew new black and gold material into 6 black t-shirts as the sleeves on the costumes of some of the 4th grade boys that had costumes like Austin.  It was a great time to develop some friendships with friends at church.  It was also very cute to watch the performances!

Ezra

I haven't put anything on this blog in so long!  I was almost ready to give up because I didn't think I could catch up or that I ever have anything all that interesting to post or say.  However, it is a great way to keep my parents and a few friends up to date on some of the things we do.  Its a great way to share pictures so I will keep trying...  these are some cute things about Ezra from this winter.

This is a picture he drew on a dry erase board and the first time he wrote "mom".

His new favorite hat...

He got to take Fat Boy in for show and tell at preschool:

in full ninja mode...

He made this fort...probably on one of those days when his brothers were at school.  Sometimes he feels like he has nothing to do when he is home alone!

He created this "buns protector" during a game they were playing.  The boys seem to often enjoy playing games where they throw balls at each others behinds.
